I successfully transplanted the rose sprouts from both warm and cold stratification into soil. A few already look promising. I can't wait to see them blossom.

Happy birthday Marui! I set aside an entire bushel of strawberries from the latest harvest for you. I tried to pick the best ones. They're in my office, so come by whenever to get them.

The group of seeds I set aside for warm stratification have started to sprout, so I've been preparing starting trays with a special mix of soil my mom and I developed for roses. I have another group of seeds still in cold stratification. I think a few more weeks of that and then they'll be ready for transfer.

Apologies for the belated warm wishes, but happy birthday Kenya! I hope you had a wonderful day and got some presents. :D

Speaking of birthdays, my family sent me a few things for mine. Mostly various hybrid tea rose seeds. Mom thinks one of them might be a Claude Monet Rose which would be amazing, but I'm expecting the usual (Peace, Heirloom, Fontaline, etc). I'd absolutely love to get my hands on Juliet rose or Suntory Blue rose seeds, so I've asked my mom if she can look into it for me.

Mizuki, I don't want to assume you'd want to help with the roses, but I would be very appreciative if you'd like to.

March Harvest time! )

As much as the heat dried out my skin, I preferred that over the cold. At least the greenhouse is relatively comfortable, if humid. Definitely better than the alternative.

Crop update! )

Nothing much is going on at home. Everyone is doing well, thankfully. It's better than the alternative or the last six months.

Good harvest )

My mother has a gallery showing! I'm kind of jealous actually. I haven't been able to display any art in a showing since university. She promised to take some video and let me know what's being shown. I'm quite happy for her.

As for my "marriage", dad says things are "looking up" and things should be resolved next month.

A big harvest for November:
- Enoki mushrooms
- Celery
- Green Beans
- Bell Peppers
- Oyster mushrooms
- Corn
- Shiitake mushrooms
- Sweet potatoes

Much thanks to Mizuki for helping with the community garden plots. They look wonderful!

My sister has moved into my old apartment on Earth. Mom thought it was a good idea since she's usually over there taking care of my plants anyway. Hasuka took the fresh start to also break up with her boyfriend as she was "pretty sure" I wouldn't like him. Smart young woman.

Dad is using all the info I sent confirming I wasn't on Earth when the marriage happened to make it go away, but the system is... slow, to say the least. With luck, I'll be "single" before the end of the year.

And now for the best part of the month... )

According to my sister, I am now a married man which is strange, considering I was very much single when I left Earth. Apparently my ex is the ultimate idiot and put my name on the marriage license instead of his fiance. My parents are working on undoing it, but I'd very much like to send a different wedding present than the one I had in mind since I can't go home and take care of it in person. I'd probably go to prison if I did that anyway.

In better news, the following crops are ready for harvest:
- Oats
- Rice
- Carrots
- Broccoli

As always, if you would like a particular fruit, vegetable, or legume, let me know and I'll check our stock.

I'm very happy to be back on base and out of the dust storm. I'm surprised we didn't get hurt with how low the visibility was. Thanks to Mizuki and Oshitari, we successfully set up the secondary communications tower. Hopefully the strong winds don't mess it up.

Thank you to Akutagawa and Dr. Chitose for looking after the greenhouses and gardens while I was gone. Everything looks wonderful. I arrived back just in time for harvesting. The following foodstuffs are now available:

- Cashews
- Peas
- Soybeans
- Zucchini
- Tatsoi
- Bok choy
- Cucumber

There is a child in Greenhouse 1. I don't know how he got here, but he's asleep on a bench under the sunflowers. Can his handler owner parent(s) come get him? I'm not going to wake him up since I have work to do and don't have time to babysit.

My younger sister was put on the gossip update this round.
- Dad got promoted!
- Mom is taking an art class, which isn't anything new, but I think it may be "risque" which is why specifics weren't added.
- Hasuka has another a boyfriend. He's... okay. She could definitely do better and I'm hoping she realizes that, but I'm going to stay out of it for now.
- And, saving the best for last. My ex got engaged to the person he cheated on me with.

Time for a crop update!~ )

The cherry tomatoes have successfully bore fruit. I've already delivered some to the kitchen staff. Given the current rate of production, there will be plenty for when the two expedition teams arrive back. Speaking of, I hope some type of vegetation was found, whether it be aquatic or not. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to Earth and Mars, if it does at all.

I've submitted the necessary yet tedious requisition forms for seeds, saplings, soils, and various fertilizers. After additional research, I added coffee, grapes, persimmon, tamarind, monk fruit, and mango to the list which contained carrots, strawberries, zucchini, and tea. Ms. Ryuuzaki, please let me know if there is anything I need to fix.

Happy to say that the tomatoes have started flowering, so the first harvest should be in about a week. I also have a variety of herbs, if anyone would like to add flavor to the algae.

Good luck to those going on the expeditions. If you see any plant life, I would greatly appreciate a sample, soil & roots intact when at all possible.
